Cruise control is a rarity in the middleweight road bike ranks, so you’re ahead of the pack straight away.
The ‘smarts’ in headlights these days has gone to another level and, as well as delivering a great field and depth of vision in low- and high-beam, the 700CL-X has an adaptive headlight that automatically adjusts to ambient brightness. TRIANGLE DELIVERS A GREAT TUNE
Getting the riding ‘triangle’ – the relationship between the handlebars, seat and footpegs – just right is one of motorcycling’s biggest head scratches, but CFMOTO’s engineers have nailed the 700CL-X Heritage equation. The seat height is a low 800mm and, with its high handlebar, the machine promotes a relaxed, upright riding position.
LIGHT AND HUNGRY
Weight is just 196kg with a full tank of fuel, thanks to features such as the aluminium-alloy swingarm. Light equates to host of advantages, including the ability to turn on a dime and hit those apexes with millimetre precision!
Adjustable KYB suspension delivers a comfortable ride in the city, and when the pace – and pressure – builds the finesse and refinement continues. The limits are endless!
Compared to the LAMS-legal 650 range, the 700CL-X ups the ante by an extra 18hp (13kW) and 6Nm. Other technical highlights for the updated powerplant include Bosch fuel-injection, split connecting rods, and forged pistons for strength and reduced weight and inertia.
Slipper clutch helps reduce rear-wheel chatter when downshifting through the free-revving engine.
